Our sympathetically renovated cottage sleeps 4.

There are two light and airy bedrooms, each with a kingsize bed. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.

‘Sky’ is on the top floor, with views across the tiled rooftops and out towards the Windmill and Udimore, enjoying fabulous afternoon sun and sunsets.  Soft white bedlinen and white matchboarding ensure that you will wake every morning feeling refreshed.  The bathroom has a rolltop bath and lovely views over gardens and The Mint.

‘Garden’ is on the first floor overlooking The Mint and neighbouring gardens.  Styled in soft greys and whites the bed has a beautiful French headboard, and a wonderful feeling of calm.  You will enjoy the morning sun from your bed. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and views over the courtyard.

Both bedrooms have ample storage and hanging space. Both bathrooms have storage for your bathroom needs, soft white fluffy towels and complementary Duck Island  products to ensure that you have what you need when you arrive. Beach towels are available in the summer months should you wish to swim in the sea. In our quest to provide our guests with the perfect night’s sleep, our bed linen is laundered by us and line dried in our Sussex country garden, then ironed with natural essences of lavender and chamomile to ensure the very best night’s sleep!

There is a newly fully fitted kitchen with a washing machine, drier, dishwasher, fridge freezer and combination oven and all the necessary equipment for you to be able to cook if you so wish. Teas, coffee, hot chocolate, milk and a selection of basic condiments for cooking are provided.  On your arrival there will be a few homebaked biscuits or flapjacks, a small loaf of bread, fresh butter and honey/jam to start your day.

There is a dining area seating four around an oak dining table and pretty white dining chairs upholstered in ticking fabric.  A small library offers a few choice books for you to enjoy during your stay along with a few traditional board games. The sitting room has a very comfortable sofa and two armchairs,  a smart TV and luxury woollen rugs for you to enjoy on cooler evenings at home. In addition there is very good Wifi throughout the cottage.

The courtyard is our very special place.  It is somewhere to sit and relax in a very private and quiet environment, away from the crowds. It is always peaceful no matter how busy the town is. A bespoke wooden bench built into raised bed runs alongside the ancient town wall. There is plenty of sunshine filling the courtyard in the summer months. A small table and two additional chairs allow four people to enjoy a simple meal or an aperitif outside in the sunshine.

The art is inspired by the seaside and we have enjoyed shopping locally for the furnishings and decorations.  Homemade lavender bags scent the bedroom cupboards. Everything has been custom made for us and often handmade by us.

Look out for little seasonal treats! At Christmas traditional decorations will include a beautifully decorated tree. Lavender bags filled with our homegrown lavender scent the wardrobes. During the summer months there are freshly picked flowers from our Sussex garden.

Unfortunately we do not allow pets to stay and we feel that the cottage is not suitable for children under 12.
